The trust has an established work experience scheme in
place, which is open to students aged between 15 and 19 who attend
local schools and colleges.
Work experience is unpaid, usually for one or two weeks, with
opportunities ranging from medical placements on wards, to
non-medical placements in offices at the hospital.
It gives students a ‘taste’ of what to expect from a chosen
career, which could help the decision to pursue a career in a given
