Clean and safe
We know that coming into hospital can be an anxious time.
Some patients have concerns about being in an unfamiliar
environment, some worry about understanding tests and treatments,
while others worry about the risk of acquiring infections such as
MRSA and Clostridium difficile.
Patient safety is a priority at Poole
Hospital, and we have robust processes and procedures in place to
prevent the spread of infections.
We work hard to ensure high standards of
hygiene and cleanliness are observed. Our most recent assessment by
the Patient Environment Action Team in 2012 shows the quality of
our environment and levels of privacy and dignity are excellent,
while our food was rated as good.
Our patients and visitors also have a role to
play in helping us to keep bugs out of hospitals, by following our
hand-washing guidelines and not visiting if they have had any
sickness or diarrhoea in the last 48 hours.
