Why choose us

Clean and safe

Lulworth WardWe know that coming into hospital can be an anxious time. Some patients have concerns about being in an unfamiliar environment, some worry about understanding tests and treatments, while others worry about the risk of acquiring infections such as MRSA and Clostridium difficile.

Patient safety is a priority at Poole Hospital, and we have robust processes and procedures in place to prevent the spread of infections.

We work hard to ensure high standards of hygiene and cleanliness are observed. Our most recent assessment by the Patient Environment Action Team in 2012 shows the quality of our environment and levels of privacy and dignity are excellent, while our food was rated as good.

Our patients and visitors also have a role to play in helping us to keep bugs out of hospitals, by following our hand-washing guidelines and not visiting if they have had any sickness or diarrhoea in the last 48 hours.

Responsible visiting

The safety of our patients is a priority and as a visitor you have a part to play in helping us to keep patients safe, by observing our hand hygiene rules and ensuring you do not bring in any bugs with you.

Please do not visit patients if you have had any diarrhoea or vomiting symptoms, or been in contact with someone who has, in the last 72 hours.
