Disabled access and support

We aim to promote equality by ensuring the services we provide are accessible to all.

Parking and drop-off points

Extra wide spaces for wheelchair users are available in the multi-storey car park, from which there is a level walkway to the main hospital.

Disabled parking facilities are available for cars displaying disability badges/discs near entrance 11 (D block) and the disabled car park near entrances 7/ 8 (courtyard entrance).

Parking is free only for drivers of vehicles who receive both free road fund tax and display a disability disc.

Drop-off points are available at entrance 10 - waiting is limited to 20 minutes.

Visual or audio impairment

If you have any special requirements, such as help with visual or hearing impairment or language or communication matters, please let a member of staff know, or contact the Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) to find out what support is available to you.

Our range of patient information leaflets are available in various formats, including large print, Braille, and foreign languages, through the Health Information Centre.

We can arrange qualified British Sign Language (BSL)interpreters and lip speakers by prior arrangement.
