Day of surgery admissions unit

The day of surgery admissions unit (DSAU) is an admission area for patients due to go to theatre for elective or planned surgery. The team of nurses on DSAU prepare patients for safe transfer to theatre. Patients will be seen by the anaesthetist and surgical team prior to transfer to theatre. Following surgery patients are transferred to a ward for there ongoing care.

We request that patient property is kept to a minimum on the admissions unit - please do not bring money or valuables.
