Be a responsible visitor - reminder

The public is reminded about responsible visiting as a number of cases of flu and norovirus continue to be seen in the community.

If you have either winter illness please do not visit the hospital – both can be easily passed on and can affect the hospital’s ability to provide the best care possible to patients.

Anyone who has had sickness or diarrhoea, or a flu-like illness, in the past 72 hours should stay away from the hospital.

Members of the public visiting the hospital should wash their hands thoroughly to prevent the spread of winter illnesses.

Do you have flu? Symptoms may include:

  • headache
  • aches and pains
  • high fever
  • dry cough, sore throat, runny nose and sneezing
  • lethargy.
