Maternity listening event

Parents who have used maternity services in east Dorset are invited to a special event aimed at improving the care provided.

Whose Shoes? is a chance for the public to share experiences of the services provided at Poole and the Royal Bournemouth hospitals with the NHS staff providing them.

Jillian Ireland midwifeThe session will cover all aspects of antenatal and postnatal care, as well as labour, discharge and community maternity services.

“We’re committed to providing the safest and best quality care we can,” said organiser and Poole Hospital midwife, Jillian Ireland (pictured).

“A vital part of this is to ensure the views and feelings of those who experience maternity services – mums, dads, families – are listened to.

“By learning from people’s experiences, both where we exceeded expectation and where we can do better, we can improve services for everyone.”

Whose Shoes? takes place from 10am-2pm on 6 October at St Mary’s Longfleet Church Centre, in Longfleet Road, Poole. A light lunch and refreshments will be provided.
