Vocational training awards

More than 80 members of staff were awarded at Poole Hospital’s annual presentation evening for vocational training. The qualifications covered a wide range of programmes including apprenticeships, teaching awards, and management awards.

Chief executive Debbie Fleming presented the apprenticeship learners with their certificates, while director of nursing Patricia Reid presented a range of learning and development awards including bridging certificates. Chairman Steve Erskine gave out the management certificates. Poole Hospital is an approved apprenticeship training provider, supporting internal and external staff working in health and health and social care to achieve qualifications that help enhance patient care.

Vocational Training Awards

The winners at the awards held on 24 May at the RNLI in Poole and now in its 21st year, included healthcare assistant Lol Reeves from child health. She was the successful nominee for the Rotary Award for Excellence prize that was presented by Babs Plumbridge, junior vice president of the Rotary Club of Poole. Matilda Shipsey was awarded Learner of the Year having completed her Apprenticeships level 2 and 3 in clinical health care support and the Bridging Programme. She is now on her nursing degree course at Bournemouth University.

Carol Flynn, widening participation lead/apprenticeship manager, said: “It’s a fantastic achievement for all the apprenticeship learners- it just goes to show that you can really develop your career here at Poole Hospital.”
