Annual volunteers dinner

The contribution made by volunteers was recognised last week at the Poole Hospital Annual volunteer dinner. More than 185 attendees were joined at the event by the Mayor of Poole, Councillor Ann Stribley, and the Sheriff of Poole, Xena Dion.

Chief Executive Debbie Fleming  and chairman Angela Schofield  thanked the volunteers at the dinner and dance held at the Lighthouse, Poole.

Volunteer manager Joy Janati organised the event and   said: “It was a really enjoyable night, and great to see volunteers meeting other volunteers and staff in their area socially.  These wonderful people give over 20,000 hours of their time every year and it is fantastic to recognise their commitment to the hospital”

Janet Setchell“I really enjoy my time supporting the hospital, meeting the patients and making their time with us as comfortable as possible.

It is incredibly satisfying and If for any reason I had to give it up, I would really miss it.”

The raffle at the event raised £600 which will be used to further support the programme for the next year.

The Trust has around 250 volunteers, and if you would like to join the group, please contact Joy for further information.
