Positive performance in latest survey

Patients continue to be positive about the care they receive at Poole Hospital, the latest national inpatient survey shows.

Results of the Care Quality Commission survey were released last week.

Tracey Nutter, director of nursing at Poole Hospital, said: “The annual national inpatient survey is a valuable source of patient views on a wide range of areas.

“This year’s responses paint a broadly positive picture of the experiences of patients admitted to Poole Hospital in relation to other hospitals nationally. This includes the experiences of patients seen in an emergency, treating patients with dignity and respect and the overall care patients received.

“Patients also felt their admission to a bed on a ward following arrival at hospital was timely, and rated as ‘better’ performing than most hospitals nationally.

“The survey also identifies areas in which we can improve, for example seeking the views of patients on the quality of care they receive whilst in hospital. The trust is taking part in an innovative research programme which will allow many patients to provide real-time feedback on their experience in hospital, which we will use to ensure the care provided meets the high standards we set for ourselves and that our patients rightly expect.”
