Pilates Classes

This is a gentle exercise programme taught by a trained APPI Pilates Physiotherapist to help to improve the postural (core) strength and flexibility of the spine.  The exercises should not add to your pain or give you new pain when done correctly. Many of the exercises are performed on Pilates mats on the floor so you need to be able to get on and off the floor.  The classes have a maximum of 7 people so the physiotherapist is able to adjust and correct your exercise as needed.

Private Pilates Classes 3.30pm Thursdays, Poole Hospital Neuro Gym, Therapy Services, Poole Hospital.

These can be booked after a physiotherapy assessment or attending the NHS beginners classes. Please contact to enquire about availability and booking.

The classes normally run in 6 week blocks and cost £48 payable in advance.

More information about the modified Pilates exercises that are taught can be found on the APPI website:

If you are unable to attend any of the classes, please advise the physiotherapist running the class or phone the Therapy Services Department as there is a waiting list for these classes. If you do not attend a session and do not inform us then you will be discharged and your GP will be advised.
