Radiology

A radiologist looking at a scanPoole Hospital's radiology service offers a wide range of imaging examinations including radionuclide imaging, CT and MRI scans, mammography (breast-screening), ultrasound and plain imaging (x-rays).

We see patients referred from GP surgeries, hospital clinics, in-patient wards and from the accident and emergency department.

The department uses the latest digital technology for storing and distributing images known as PACS (Picture Archiving And Communications System). This means that virtually all images are stored electronically and can be viewed on computer screens anywhere in the hospital, eliminating the need to print film.

Use the links on the right to find out more about the different radiology services available at Poole Hospital.
