Hospital-wide visiting restrictions reintroduced

As a precautionary measure to protect patients, ward visiting at Poole Hospital has been suspended again. This is because of the need to fully close one ward and also bays on three other wards due to diarrhoea and vomiting.

We do understand how upsetting these restrictions can be for patients, relatives and other visitors but we have to ensure we take all available measures in limiting the spread of this illness and maintaining the smooth running of the hospital for all patients.

Visiting restrictions will be reviewed daily and will remain in place only as long as strictly necessary.

Outpatient clinics, day case and diagnostic services are unaffected. However, patients due for an appointment who have had, or have been near someone with diarrhoea or vomiting in the last three days should contact the hospital as soon as possible to discuss their appointment.
