The Pharmacy opening hours: Monday to Wednesday 9am-5pm, Thursday 9.30am-5pm, Friday 9am-5pm and Saturday 10am-11am.
The Pharmacy department delivers a full range of Pharmacy services and advice to patients attending Poole Hospital.
The main dispensary is open all day Monday to Friday and Saturday mornings, meeting the requirements of our busy outpatient clinics.
Automated dispensing systems have been installed to keep waiting times to a minimum. All wards receive medicines management visits from teams of Clinical Pharmacists and technicians who ensure that prescribing is clinically appropriate, drug availability is maximised and patients receive as much help as they require to fully understand their medicines. A one-stop dispensing system is in operation to reduce drug wastage and dispensing delays. Patient discharges are facilitated by discharge Pharmacists who complete prescriptions at ward level wherever possible, minimising delays for patients. Those patients using the discharge lounge receive discharge support and medication counselling from a dedicated Pharmacy technician.
