Poole Hospital has been commended in the Health Business Awards 2009
Poole Hospital has been commended for its outstanding achievement in healthcare during 2009.
Poole received the commendation in the Outstanding Achievement in Healthcare category in the Health Business Awards 2009 last week.
It was one of just five hospitals in the country to be shortlisted in the top category of the Health Business Awards prestigious awards which recognise excellence in the provision of NHS facilities. This is awarded to an NHS organisation that has achieved success in its role and brought benefits to the wider NHS through the dedication and expertise of its staff.
In order to determine the shortlists for the Health Business Awards, researchers from business events company, PSE and Health Business Magazine consider a range of factors, using data from a variety of public and private sector sources. This includes including the Care Quality Commission, PEAT assessments, DoH statistics, patient experience and evidence of positive publicity in the local, national and medical media.
Sue Sutherland, Chief Executive of Poole Hospital, said: ‘I am very pleased that the successes of Poole Hospital have been recognised in this way. This means a great deal to our patients and hard working staff, who are the drivers behind all of our achievements in the past year.’
Earlier this year, Poole Hospital was named ‘safest hospital in the UK’ by CHKS, one of the UK’s leading independent providers of healthcare intelligence and quality improvement.
