Poole people say 'cheese' for charity in unique fundraising event
Local residents had the opportunity to take part in a unique fundraising event on Saturday 15 August, when professional photographer Steve Cook took on the challenge of photographing ‘500 Faces of Poole’ to raise money for Poole Hospital’s Wish List charity.
This exciting event was open to anyone who lives or works in the Poole area. Those taking part had a professional portrait shot taken in exchange for just a £2 minimum donation, and the images will be displayed in a giant montage in the Lighthouse, Poole in September.
Local photographer Steve Cook of Seeker Photography (www.seekerphotography) came up with the idea for the project. Steve said: “I wanted to do something to say ‘thank you’ to Poole Hospital after my son Noel was cared for in the Neo-natal Intensive Care Unit.”
Kim Hawkings, Fundraising Co-ordinator for Poole Hospital said: “This was a fantastic fundraising initiative that we were really excited to be part of. The event was a huge success - in fact, we photographed 501 people on the day!”
