Poole Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is an acute general hospital. It was named the safest hospital in the UK in the 2009 CHKS Patient Safety Awards, and the services the hospital provides have been rated as 'excellent' by the Care Quality Commission. These include emergency care, maternity services, cancer care and specialist surgery, as well as care and treatment for children.
